From the first time I heard Sena Ehrhardt's voice coming out of the speakers in my office when I received her debut CD on Blind Pig Records, I knew she had the potential to be a star.

Now three years later with the release of the band's third CD 'Live My Life' more and more people around the world are starting to find out what the people around Rochester, Minnesota have known for a number of years: Sena can flat out sing!

I first met Sena at a bar gig in Sioux Falls during the winter of 2011-12. Going in, I knew that we already had her booked for JazzFest in Sioux Falls for July 2012 based solely on her CD. After watching her own the stage that night with powerhouse vocals that at times reminded me a little bit of one of my all-time favorites, Susan Tedeschi, I knew I was seeing the start of a fantastic career.

We got a chance to talk a little that night and more at JazzFest that summer and have become friends. Off stage she is the small town Minnesota girl with a smile and kind words to everyone wanting to meet her, but on the stage, she interacts with her bandmates Cole Allen, Rick Roussell and Paul Peterson and is the consummate front woman.

We got a chance to catch up recently and talk about their first tour of Germany in November with a string of sold out shows over three weeks (and yes, a tour already booked back in Europe in 2015!). She said the band has already begun writing songs for a fourth album that she hopes to start work on in the next year. You can hear the full interview below.

The Sena Ehrhardt Band will be at Anthem, in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Sioux City, Iowa this Thursday night at 8pm. Tickets are still available at this link. If you choose general admission bar standing or general admission floor seating tickets and use the code word 'Crash', you can get tickets for just $5 each!

The Sena Ehrhardt Band's star continues to rise. They have built a reputation as a fantastic live band at club gigs and large venues opening for the likes of B.B. King, Robert Cray, Johnny Winter, Dickey Betts, and even ZZ Top. It won't be long before they're the one's playing the headlining shows at those same large venues. Treat yourself to an early Christmas party this Thursday at the Hard Rock with B102.7.

Here are a couple of recent videos we did with Sena. First with guitarist Cole Allen live in our studios with an acoustic cover of their 'Chilled to the Bone' from their new record 'Live My Life'. The second was shot at the Downtown Sioux Falls block party this summer.
