I am fascinated by radio and television towers. They also happen to be inherently necessary for me to have my job, at least in the flat prairie of the upper Midwest. They are skinny structures, weighing relatively little compared to similarly tall buildings. My fascination with broadcast towers is conditional on the fact that my feet are firmly planted on the ground.

Watching this video gave me the willies like I was watching a really scary horror movie.

Nick Wagner from National Tower Controls wore a GoPro as he climbed the 1,999-foot KDLT tower located south of Rowena. He is already most of the way to the top when the recording starts. Using two hooks that are attached, detached and reattached with each step up the ladder, he slowly but steadily ascends to the summit to replace the light bulb at the top.

I did watch the whole video from start to finish, but it was hard. Several of the head movements made me think Nick was losing his footing. If someone offered me $10 million to climb it, even with all the required training it would take, I don't think I could do it. No way.
