Okay, so former 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' star Sarah Michelle Gellar's big return to TV with The CW's 'Ringer' didn't exactly work out, but you can't keep a good slayer down. No, it's not that 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' animated series we'd heard about, or even a guest spot under Joss Whedon on ABC's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' TV series, but rather Sarah Michelle Gellar is reportedly returning to TV in another starring vehicle. Find out the details of SMG's new venture inside!

Thank the TV gods, Sarah Michelle Gellar may soon return to TV, and it has nothing to do with a 'Ringer' revival. TVLine first reported that Gellar may soon find herself as the lead in an untitled half-hour sitcom being developed at 20th Century Fox TV (former home of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer') and written by former 'Men at Work' writing staff head Shepard Boucher.

The untitled series would focus on the misadventures parents get into while their kids aren't home, Gellar playing the wife and mother of the family. No castings have been announced for the father role. The project, executive produced by David Hemingson ('How I Met Your Mother', 'Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23') and Margaret Riley ('Love and Other Drugs') will be shopped to major networks within the next few weeks.

What say you? Do you think Sarah Michelle Gellar could find a new home with a sitcom? Where would you like to see the former 'Buffy' star next?
