Sammy Hagar is headed for Springfield on Nov. 23, but you can see the Red Rocker immortalized as a 'Simpsons' cast member a few days early, courtesy of this publicity shot from the Fox network.

As previously reported, this episode marks the first time Hagar's lent his voice to the show, although he surfaced way back in Season 11 when he was briefly glimpsed next to Willie Nelson at an awards ceremony. Fittingly, it's music that brings Sammy back to town, as outlined in the episode's synopsis:

Homer has a midlife crisis after Moe’s shuts down and Moe takes off on a trip with King Toot. Homer then takes up bass guitar and forms a cover band with some of the other dads in town. But the band's modest early success is soon overwhelmed by the breakout potential of their most unlikely star.

In other Hagar news, he's just added another stop on his never-ending tour itinerary, booking a free New Year's Eve concert at his Cabo Wabo Cantina in Los Cabos, Mexico. The show, which will find Hagar sitting in with the house band Cabo Uno, is planned as a benefit to help fund reconstruction efforts in the area following the damage wrought by Hurricane Odile.

"Cabo's battling back, baby," enthused Hagar in a press release. "And that's the best reason in the world to celebrate and support the community."

Admission is free on a first-come, first-serve basis, but fans are encouraged to put what they would have spent toward donations to the Los Cabos Children's Foundation. The press release adds that Hagar is currently working with the local tourism board to help organize a music festival in the area for early 2015.
