Rush Wants Deep Purple in Rock Hall

Rush is headed into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Thursday night in Los Angeles, but Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson both agree that bands like Deep Purple, who were nominated, should have been inducted before them.

Geddy tells us, "The sound of a lot of bands like ourselves would not be the same without Ritchie Blackmore's guitar playing and the writing that Deep Purple did as a band. So I feel pretty strongly that they should be in there."

Other bands that Alex Lifeson feels are overdue for induction include The Moody Blues and Yes.

Joining Rush in the class of 2013 are Heart, Albert King, Donna Summer, Randy Newman, Quincy Jones, Lou Adler and Public Enemy.
