Popular belief has it that Twinkies never go bad, but there's a disgustingly rotten Twinkie currently up for auction on eBay that proves this wrong. Oh so wrong.

According to eBay user high_order1, he discovered the moldy snack cake in a box of Twinkies sometime last year during a junk food binge. "Something catches my attention out of the corner of my eye. Inches from my mouth, I actually stop to look at the golden wonder for a second. It is GREEN. Not yellow, green," he wrote.

Fascinated by the putrid pastry, he then decided to keep it on the "environmentally controlled top" of his refrigerator to see "what it's gonna morph into."

As if that's not disturbing enough, high_order1 is now selling the nauseating specimen and will send it anywhere in the U.S. for $10 shipping. Amazingly, bidding is already up to $46 and could go even higher by the time the auction ends two days from now.

But, as the owner of the decomposing Twinkie points out, it's obviously not meant for consumption. Instead, he writes, "it's a scientific and historical curiosity only." Well, that's one way to describe it, we guess. "Garbage" is another.
