The Rolling Stones weren't the only major British rock act to take over a Los Angeles club last week. Rod Stewart, who calls L.A. home, did a showcase for his new album Time on Thursday at the legendary Troubadour in West Hollywood.

Upon taking the stage he said, “I think I'm Rod Stewart” before launching into a 10-song set that included tracks off the new album as well as some older material including “Forever Young,” “Rhythm of My Heart” "You Wear It Well" and his take on Van Morrison’s “Have I Told You Lately.”

Stewart seemed to have a good time, at one point saying, “We're playing at the Troubadour instead of the Staples Center -- now you know why. It's more fun here!" The show was filmed and shown on YouTube and VEVO on Saturday.

Time, his 28th studio album, will be out May 7th.
