Though the issues plaguing the launch of Grand Theft Auto 5's GTA Online have diminished greatly the past few days, there are still some players facing problems like missing characters, apartments and rank.

Rockstar has been working with players to try and resolve continuing problems brought about in GTA Online. The most recent major issue has resulted in certain players losing their created characters, and the progress that entailed. Over on the developer's support page, Rockstar offered advice on what not to do if you find your character missing.

"If you have previously created a character but see an empty character selection screen when entering GTA Online, please back out to GTAV Story Mode and try re-entering GTA Online through the pause menu (repeat or wait until Rockstar cloud servers are back up)," Rockstar wrote. "Do not create a new character in the empty slot where your character should be."

Having your character potentially overwritten could be an problem, too. Rockstar advises not hitting "Retry" if the prompt "Rockstar Cloud Servers are Unavailable" pops up. Instead, Rockstar said players should merely return to story mode through the pause menu, and not the character select wheel. Doing so triggers an autosave, which should help alleviate some of the issues.

GTA Online is still very much a work in progress, but at least it appears more stable and playable this week than it was at launch.
