UPDATE: After speculation regarding his health in the last week, TMZ is reporting that the rock star known as 'Prince' has died at the age of 57.

His body was discovered Thursday morning at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota.

The Sheriff's dept. has confirmed that he was found in an elevator at Paisley Park and were unable to revive him.

In one of his last appearances, Prince reportedly showed up at a dance party Saturday night in Paisley Park to assure people he was on the mend.

Prince was an international superstar who sold more than 100 million records during his career.

UPDATE: 11/16/16 - A severe case of the flu is to blame, according to his publicist. He wasn't feeling well before the Atlanta gig but performed anyway. He was released from the hospital Friday and is homeward bound.

According to TMZ, rock legend best know for the hit album, Purple Rain, was rushed by ambulance to a hospital after after his jet made an emergency landing in Illinois.

Apparently, the unscheduled stop in Moline happened due to his health. The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. Friday morning after performing in Atlanta Thursday night.

Through the course of Friday, there were conflicting reports as to the prognosis of his ailments.
