You might expect a multi-millionaire Englishman like Robert Plant to tool around in a European sports car or a Rolls Royce. But, in fact, his preference is for big American sedans.

While still resident in the UK, Plant owned a Lincoln Continental. Now that he lives some of the time in Austin, Texas, he drives a Ford Crown Victoria. And not just any old Crown Victoria. As a guest on AC/DC singer Brian Johnson's Rockers and Rollers radio show on BBC 2, Plant said that he bought it at a Texas State Police auction.

Perhaps that's why Plant named his band Crown Vic last year before renaming it the Sensational Space Shifters.
