Mick Jagger will be part of the production team for an upcoming James Brown bio-pic. Deadline.com says Jagger will join Imagine Entertainment's Brian Grazer on the still-untitled project that will follow Brown's six decades in show biz. A longtime associate of Ron Howard, Grazer has been trying to make this movie for years -- Brown was involved in developing it before his sudden death in 2006.

The Godfather of Soul's widow Tommie Rae Brown is also part of the creative team. She told Deadline, "I am deeply honored that Mick Jagger and Brian Grazer, two of my husband's Brown’s favorite people, have entered into a partnership to bring his inspirational story to the big screen."

While the producers already have a script by the British writer-siblings Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth, there's no word yet on casting.
