Green Day announced yesterday (October 29) that they have permanently cancelled all Fall 2012 shows (refunds are available at point of purchase) They have also scrapped a small theatre run planned to start late next month AND their US Arena tour dates through February 8 in Las Vegas.

The canceled and postponed tour plans come in the wake of frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's entry into rehab for substance abuse in late September.

Bassist Mike Dirnt said in a statement, "Obviously the timing for this isn't ideal, but Billie Joe's well-being is our main concern. We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank you all for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can't wait to see you all again soon."

Green Day has also announced that the last of its three new albums, Tre!, will now come out on December 11th of this year instead of January 15th, 2013. Drummer Tre Cool said, "We feel bad we have to delay our tour, so to make up for it we want to give our fans the music earlier than we had planned."
