Sioux Falls has seen its share of Rock and Roll Hall of Famers at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in the past two years, acts like Joan Jett, Bob Seger, The Eagles, Elton John, Rod Stewart, James Taylor (July 2016), and Paul McCartney. But never have a pair of Hall of Fame acts shared the bill at the venue.

Until now.

Chicago and Earth, Wind and Fire are bringing their Heart and Soul 3.0 Tour to the PREMIER Center, Friday November 11, 2016. Tickets range from $27.50 to $97.50 (plus taxes and fees) and are on sale now.

Tickets can be purchased at the PREMIER Center Box Office, Ticketmaster, and Ticketmaster.com.

Chicago began as Chicago Transit Authority in 1969. The name was shortened to Chicago shortly after the release of the band's first album, Chicago Transit Authority. From 1970 to 1991, the band produced five #1 albums and 21 top-ten singles. Three times they've reached the top of the Billboard Singles Chart - 'If You Leave Me Now' (1976), 'Hard To Say I'm Sorry' (1982), and 'Look Away' (1988).

They are second only to The Beach Boys in Billboard singles and albums chart success among American bands, with more than 100 million records sold worldwide. Chicago won a Grammy and two American Music Awards. The received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1992.

They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, April 8, 2016.

Former lead singer Peter Cetera skipped the induction ceremony. He began his solo career in 1981, while still a member of Chicago. He continued to pull double duty until 1985, when he left the band for good. In 1986, he scored two #1 songs - 'Glory of Love' (from Karate Kid II) and 'The Next Time I Fall' (with Amy Grant).

Also hailing from the Windy City, Earth, Wind and Fire was founded by Maurice White, in 1971. The band has received six Grammy awards and four American Music Awards. They have received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and sold over 100 million records.

Five members of Earth, Wind and Fire were also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame: Maurice White, Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Larry Dunn and Al McKay. The band has been honored with Lifetime Achievement honors from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award – 2002), NAACP (Hall of Fame – 1994) and the BET Awards (Lifetime Achievement Award – 2002).

Earth, Wind and Fire was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.

The band's only #1 song, 'Shining Star', came off of their only #1 album, That's The Way of the World, in May of 1975. Ironically, that album knocked Chicago VIII out of the top spot on the Billboard chart. Two Earth, Wind and Fire songs, 'Shining Star' (2007) and 'That's The Way of the World' (2004), are in the Grammy Hal of Fame.

In all, EWF had 16 Top 40 hits from 1974 to 1983.

Lead singer Philip Bailey had success away from the band in the mid-1980's with the release of his Grammy nominated 1985 solo album, Chinese Wall. That album featured the song 'Easy Lover' - a collaboration with Phil Collins. That song went to #1 in several countries (Canada, the Netherlands, Ireland, and the UK), and climbed as high as #2 in the U.S.. The song was nominated for a Grammy, and won an MTV Video Music Award.

Bailey is still singing with the band today. White died February 4, 2016, after a suffering for years with Parkinson's disease.
