Three days after being released by the Minnesota Timberwolves, former Skyforce center Greg Stiemsma has landed with another NBA team, the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Timberwolves waived Stiemsma Sunday after he played in 76 games last season, averaging 4 points and 3 rebounds in 16 minutes per game.

He was signed as a free agent last August.

The former Wisconsin Badger played for the Skyforce during the 2009-2010 season, where he was named the NBA D-League's Defensive Player of the Year.

After a season in Turkey, Stiemsma returned to Sioux Falls in October of 2011, and played in four games with the Skyforce before signing with the Boston Celtics.
