The long-awaited Soundgarden reunion album now has a release date. Fans waiting to hear the group’s first new album in a decade and a half can now mark Nov. 13 on their calendars.

Soundgarden reunited in 2010, with a handful of select dates leading to a full tour and finally the idea to record a brand-new record. Guitarist Kim Thayil told Rolling Stone (via Blabbermouth) of the still-untitled new album, “It re-establishes that we still rock, we’re still heavy, and we’re still a little weird.”

Though Soundgarden have done a fair amount of touring over the last two years, so far the only track they’ve released in the last two years was ‘Live to Rise,’ which was penned specifically for the ‘Avengers’ soundtrack.

The new disc reportedly features tracks named ‘Blood on the Valley Floor’ and ‘A Thousand Days Before.’ Thayil says the latter, “has a little Indian thing and some chicken-pickin’. We call it ‘country and eastern.’”

In addition to the new, still-untitled release, singer Chris Cornell recently revealed in an interview with the New York Times (again, via Blabbermouth) that there were approximately unreleased 15 tracks from the band’s early days that could possibly be made available someday.
