A voice so many of us grew up listening to has been silenced. Casey Kasem, founder and host of American Top 40 as well as a well known voice actor, has passed away. He was 82.

Casey came into our homes every week starting in 1970 with American Top 40, counting down the biggest songs on the charts with stories, interviews, flashbacks and of course, long distance dedications.

Kasem was also famously the voice of 'Shaggy' on the long running Scooby Doo cartoon series.

A bitter war continues between Casey's wife Jean and his three children from his previous marriage who claimed Jean blocked them from seeing their dad for several months. The battle unfortunately will continue over Casey's remains.

Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars.

We'll miss you Casey.
