We have arrived at the second anniversary of the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. The list of accomplishments keeps building.

In a press release, the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center announced a slightly higher total of attendees over the previous 12 months as opposed to year one of the facility. The official number was 633,591 which was 465 more people than year one. The 24-month total of visitors exceeds 1.26 million since opening the doors in September 2014.

Moreover, eight concerts were sellouts during the period, all three Professional Bull Riders dates, and one Sioux Falls Stampede hockey game. Paul McCartney’s appearance was especially noteworthy as it grossed more than $2.1 million, making it the highest grossing indoor concert in South Dakota History.

The PREMIER Center also made a name with the Bull Riders by being the first venue to add an additional PBR date after tickets had gone on sale. That’s the first time it had ever happened for the PBR.

Basketball was a hit for the facility as the Women’s NCAA Division I Regionals and the Summit League Tournaments were well received. For the first time Sioux Falls hosted the NCAA Men’s Division II Wrestling Championships and an Ultimate Fighting Championships event. The raw numbers for the PREMIER Center are listed below.
