A popular bar in Maple Grove, Minn. was caught selling “Spotted Cow” beer last week after advertising it on their Facebook page.

An anonymous tip brought undercover officers to the Maple Tavern where they ordered, and were served, Spotted Cow beer - which is only brewed and served in Wisconsin.

The owner of the Maple Tavern does not have a license to import alcoholic beverages across the state line for the intent of resale, according to court documents.

Oops.

Several people on Facebook pointed out that it was illegal

The New Glarus Brewing Company has posted this on their website, “Sorry about the limited distribution, non-Wisconsinites, there are only so many hours in the day to make beer and we can only keep up with the local demand."
