Sioux Falls Police Lt. Loren McManus says a 53-year-old woman had an altercation with two females over the weekend.

"The first female that attacked the woman was 49-year-old Bettina Phillips. During the fight Phillips actually bit the tip of the victim's ring finger off. While that was going on, a second suspect, 26-year-old Lupita Moreno, came into the mix and she also did some assaulting of the victim."

McManus says the victim received treatment for her injuries.

"The victim of course had some bumps and bruises. She was taken to the hospital because of the finger amputation. Did not find the tip of the finder. So, I don't know what the results are going to be."

McManus says the two suspects face various charges.

"Phillips has been charged with one count of simple assault and one count of aggravated assault. Moreno has one count of simple assault."

Both women are residents of Sioux Falls.
