An eyewitness called police after watching a man ripping off vehicles in Sioux Falls on Sunday.

"There was a citizen who had seen an individual that appeared to be going through vehicles," according to Sioux Falls Police Captain Loren McManus.

"This happened over on 12th Street and the interstate. The caller kept an eye on the person and called police to help. Once officers arrived, we found the person and determined that he had indeed gone through some vehicles based on witness statements and some property he had on his person when he was contacted by the police. He was arrested for criminal entry to a motor vehicle."

McManus says this is a reminder to keep a lock on your property day and night.

"We also had a couple of burglary over the weekend where residences were entered. I remind people to make sure your garages are locked, your car inside your garage are locked. If you have a door from the
garage to the house make sure that is locked as well."

McManus identified the suspect as 33-year-old Jesse Mohr of Sioux Falls
