Sioux Falls Police are investigating three car burglaries in the city. Police Spokesman Sam Clemens says handguns were stolen from each of the vehicles.

"We had three vehicles that were kind of in the same neighborhood in the southern part of Sioux Falls. All three had handguns in them. All three were left unlocked. Somebody came by and took advantage of that. Now, they have guns that are unaccounted for. We're trying to find out who is responsible and hopefully those guns will turn up."

Clemens says too many people in Sioux Falls are not locking their vehicles.

"We have a problem with people leaving things in the cars. We certainly don't want to make it easy on criminals to get their hands on guns. Make sure the vehicles are locked!"

Aside from the stolen guns, Clemens says a wallet was taken from one of the three vehicles.
