Sioux Falls Man Attacked in His Home

Sioux Falls Police Officer Sam Clemens says a local man was attacked in his home in the 4500 Block of West 12th Street.

`There were a couple of people inside that the resident knew. He told them to leave. They took off. But, one of those guys came back with a friend. They knocked on the door and forced their way into the home. The two started beating the victim with a two by four that they found inside the house."

Clemens says the victim was treated for injuries.

"The victim had quite a few injuries to his head and arms. He was taken to the hospital. At this point in time, we know who one of the persons is. We're still trying to find him and the other person as well."

In a separate incident, Clemens says 911 received four to five reports from people that heard gunshots early Tuesday morning near downtown Sioux Falls. Police are still in the process of finding out what happened.
