Sioux Falls Police apprehended a man for discharging a firearm from a vehicle inside city limits late Wednesday night, June 1, 2016.

The man, Tyress Devon Washington, 23, is believed to be from Mississippi.

According to witnesses, Washington was seen firing the gun from a vehicle near 14th Street and Minnesota Ave.

After receiving a description of the vehicle, police located Washington a short time later near 11th Street and Main Ave.

Once police pulled over the vehicle, Washington fled on foot. Officers caught, and arrested him a few blocks away with a stolen pistol in his possession.  He was charged with: possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, possession of a firearm by a prior violent felon, discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, carrying a firearm concealed with no permit and fleeing from police.

No one was hurt during the incident.
