I know, I know, "beauty is only skin deep" and "beauty doesn't last" or "it's what's inside that counts"! We've all heard the aphorisms, but how many of us take them to heart? The evidence is scarce. We still live in a beauty and celebrity obsessed universe, but as beauty and celebrities go, you could do worse than Sandra Bullock, who has been chosen as People Magazine's Most Beautiful Woman.

All I know of her is what I've observed in her performances, interviews and interactions with others, which without exception, have been positive. She is quoted in the article as saying that the first time she held her son, she knew what her purpose in life was. Yup, just a regular mom. Oh alright, a really attractive mom with an Oscar and bags full of money, but so what?

Our Hollywood movie critic Cecily Knobler has told us she is a very genuine person. And Cec is not the kind of lady who would say something complimentary about a celebrity if it weren't true. Believe me, she has given us more than a little juicy info over the years about some of the jerks in La-la-land.

Some of the other most beautiful celebs in an online sneak peak of this year's "most beautiful" class include: singers Ariana Grande and Meghan Trainor, actress Taraji P. Henson, and breakout star, transgender model and actress Laverne Cox. I didn't come across any of the "most beautiful" guys in the sneak peek, so I assume we'll have to check out the magazine.
