Good news, kids. There is once again an entire team of specialists that will keep us aware of Santa's progress on Christmas Eve. Coincidentally, the tradition began by accident. In 1955, Sears & Roebuck Co.in Colorado Springs ran an advertisement with a telephone number that kids could use to call Santa. But the number was misprinted and actually put children through to the CONAD commander-in-chief's operations hotline. The director of operations at the time, Colonel Harry Shoup, had his staff "check the radar" and children who called were given updates on his location, and a tradition was born.

Here is your official NORAD Santa Tracker.

Leave the laptop open tonight and let the kids see for themselves which country or state Santa is currently working.

Merry Christmas!
