Ok, let me be fully transparent, I am not what you would call a manly man.

But since I was a youth in the great state of South Dakota, I have loved to hunt.

One bird that I have never taken some shots at is a wild turkey, but I sure wouldn't mind doing so and getting a meal or two on the table because of it.

Currently, our neighbors to the north are getting their wild turkey season underway.

As of April 9th, North Dakota's wild turkey spring season is open and runs through May 15th.

According to the AP, the state Game and Fish Department offered 5,815 licenses for the spring season which was the same amount of licenses that they offered last year.

There are two counties that will not allow hunting this spring, Hunting Unit 21 in Hettinger and Adams counties will remain closed because there are low numbers of turkeys there.
