Rod Stewart has a new album called Time coming in early May -- and for the first time in his solo career, he's written virtually every song on it.

The information comes via Rod's co-producer and keyboardist Kevin Savigar, who took part in a Production and Songwriting panel Wednesday at a Grammy Week event called Grammy Camp -- Basic Training.

Savigar says he and Stewart co-wrote six songs and that Rod has writing credits on 11 songs for the project, which he describes as "a very personal album." Aside from one seasonal tune on his recently released Christmas record, the last Stewart composition to appear on one of his albums was the title track of 1998's When We Were the New Boys, which he co-wrote with Savigar.
