Pearl Jam has released a new music video for "Mind Your Manners," the first single from the band's upcoming album Lightning Bolt. The clip -- one of the rare times that Pearl Jam has actually made a full-blown music video -- features the group playing the song on a stage, mostly in silhouette or dim lighting, as images of manmade disasters and other newsworthy events flash around and behind them. The video is only the 11th that the band has filmed in its 22-year career.

The song itself is a hard-edged track with a punk feel. Although this tune doesn't feel out of place in the Pearl Jam catalog, bassist Jeff Ament told us not long ago that the band is still eager to explore new sounds: "We wanted to be a band that could really dip our toes into a lot of different styles. And I think we're there and we still know that there's more that we could do. We still haven't really delved into keyboards and synthesizers and strings very much, so there's still some areas that we can get into."

Lightning Bolt, Pearl Jam's 10th studio effort, is due out on October 15th and follows up 2009's Backspacer.

The group kicks off a North American tour on October 11th in Pittsburgh, with the first leg ending the weekend of November 1st at the Voodoo Music Experience in New Orleans.
The second half of the trek will pick up on November 15th in Dallas, wrapping up on December 6th in Pearl Jam's hometown of Seattle.
