Just after midnight this morning (August 29th) Paul McCartney released his latest single, called "New" -- the title track to his 24th mainstream solo studio set. The album, New, will be released on October 15th and marks his first new collection since 2007's critically acclaimed Top Three hit, Memory Almost Full. The 12-track album will also be released as a 14-track deluxe edition.

The lead track was one of the songs produced by in-demand producer Mark Ronson -- the stepson of Foreigner's Mick Jones -- best known for his work with Bruno Mars, Amy Winehouse, Adele, and Rufus Wainwright. The 37-year-old Ronson, who's a close friend of Sean Lennon's, served as the DJ to McCartney's 2011 wedding to third wife, Nancy Shevell.
