The Stockyards Ag Experience Barn has been in the planning and dreaming stages for years, with Susan  Randall and Jim Woster at the helm.  Last week, city council voted to approve the lease of the Horse Barn at Falls Park for the Museum.

After remodeling is complete, Woster describes what you'll find inside:

The first floor will show a history of that complex.  John Morrell, The Sioux Falls Stockyards, the banks, truck lines, railroads, the quarry and how that all fit in down there.

On the second floor will be farm to table.  What was farming like in 1920, what was farming like in 1950, how do they raise crops now.  A great story telling place.

And what about the blue pig that used to greet everyone from the top of the Stockyards Building?  He's had a snout lift, thanks to a local bodyshop that has refurbished the fiberglass pig who is now in safekeeping until the museum is ready.

We painted it and it's all ready to go.  It looks really good.

The Museum is expected to open in August.
