National Underwear Day Today

Today is National Underwear Day, a little-known made-up holiday that was created 10 years ago by online undies retailer FreshPair.com. Unfortunately it's not a holiday that gives you a day off from work, although if you show up today in nothing but your underwear, you could get many days off.

One place that's safe to show up at today in only your skivvies is New York's Times Square, where people in boxers, briefs and thongs will get together to break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people in their underwear. The number to beat, in case you're keeping score, is 2270.
