We apparently have a lot on our minds these days.

The insurance group Travelers' has released its first ever "Consumer Risk Index" identifying Americans' top concerns.

The idea is to help us anticipate some potential dangers during September, which is National Preparedness Month.

The insurance group asked about the specific risks we see in our lives.

Company spokesperson Patrick Gee,

"Financial concerns were at the top of the list, but very close behind that actually, interestingly, was a concern that didn't even really exist a generation ago and that was the risk to personal privacy."

Coming in third was severe weather, followed by technological distractions.

Overall, 63% of Americans believe their world is growing riskier.

And that, according to the company, is why the survey was done - to focus on preparation and prevention.
