A 30-year-old naked man on Interstate 80 near Waverly, Nebraska was taken into custody Monday afternoon after he caused more than $1,500 damage to an out-of-state motorist’s vehicle.

Officer Timothy Salmen said the Nebraska State Patrol received a report around 4:20 p.m. about the naked man, Samson Wilcinot of Lincoln.

Moments later, a large van slowed to check on Wilcinot, who was outside his vehicle walking on I-80, and he hit the vehicle several times, denting the van and breaking glass in the windows.

Salmen said Wilcinot had parked his vehicle along the interstate shoulder and thrown away his keys.

Wilcinot was taken to a Lincoln hospital.

Later, he was cleared medically and then taken to the Lancaster County Jail, where he was cited on suspicion of felony criminal mischief of more than $1,500.

Troopers also ticketed him for being a pedestrian on the interstate and public indecency.

Salmen said it is believed that Wilcinot was on drugs when he disrobed.
