Not only were Sioux Falls public schools back in session today, but so were schools in other communities - like Tea, South Dakota.

After seeing many other parents posting pictures of their students heading out the door to attend classes, I also wanted to be a "proud mom" - as my youngest officially started his Senior year of high school.

But knowing that I wouldn't be able to be there when he walked out the door for the first time as a Senior, I asked my husband, Steve, to help me out. I told him,

Please. This is Troy's last year. Would you get a picture of him so I can post it on Facebook as a 'proud mom'?

After getting the "stink-eye" from my 12th grader, and a smirk from my husband, I thought I had everything covered. I guess I was wrong.

What I received to my phone just after 7:30 this morning, were these four pictures of our son, Troy. Can you see him? Yeah, I can't really, either.

Now, I wanted to believe that the quality of these pictures was an accident. But knowing that my husband and Troy have a special bond and enjoy making fun of me and "one-upping" me, I now know one thing. I can not trust those two to ever take me seriously.

I guess that's why these pictures of my son starting his Senior year of high school are so special!
