Julia Olson of Sioux Falls Crowned Miss South Dakota
Julia Olson of Sioux Falls was crowned Miss South Dakota 2016 Saturday June 18, 2016. She is the daughter of Mark and Brenda Olson.
Olson won the preliminary talent award Thursday night and the preliminary swimsuit award Friday night. She is a 23-year old graduate of South Dakota State University.
Second runner-up was Miss South Dakota State University Isabella Garcia of Sioux Falls. Third runner-up was Miss Hot Springs Alexandra Smiley from Kadoka and the fourth runner-up was Miss Rushmore Marley Hanson of Vermillion.
Olson will represent South Dakota at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, New Jersey, September 11, 2016.
