Planning at trip to Las Vegas for the first Wild game there? We now know when that game will take place.

The Minnesota Wild announced their 2017-18 season schedule today. Their regular season opener will be as part of the first ever NHL regular season game at the brand new Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on October 5, 2017. They will spend some time on the road before playing their first home game on October 14, 2017 against Columbus.

I'm a huge fan of taking a quick vacation out to Las Vegas. Hockey fans now will have that opportunity this season with the addition of the Las Vegas Golden Knights. Minnesota and Las Vegas will meet two times in St. Paul this season, and will play one game in Sin City. The Wild will play in Vegas for the first time on March 16, 2018.

Other highlights of the schedule include playing 14 Eastern Conference teams in the first 21 games, 17 weekend games, and a early season home game against the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins on October 28th.
