9/26 Update - Metallica have now released the full version of "Moth Into Flame," which you can check out above.. and which pretty much makes the rest of this article irrelevant. You can read more about the song here.

Original story. Less than a week after Metallica surprised fans with "Hardwired," the first song from their long-awaited new album Hardwired ... to Self-Destruct, the band has shared snippets of more new music in a trailer for the new record.

Rolling Stone reports that one of the new tracks, which you can hear starting at the 2:08 mark in the video above, is called "Moth Into Flame." The snippet features James Hetfield singing "Blacked out, pop queen / Amphetamine, the screams crashed in the silence" over a blisteringly fast guitar riff. There's also a bit of bluesy guitar soloing over a slower riff starting at around 2:00, which could be part of "Moth" or of an unknown third song.

Hardwired ... to Self-Destruct, the follow up to 2008's Death Magnetic (unless you count their much-maligned 2011 collaboration with Lou Reed, Lulu) is due out on Metallica's own Blackened Recordings on Nov. 18. The band has promised to tour extensively in support of the new album beginning early in 2017, though no details on those dates have been announced yet.

Metallica debuted "Hardwired" live during a special concert in Minneapolis' U.S. Bank Stadium (the new home of the NFL's Minnesota Vikings) over the weekend, streaming the entire show live over the web for their fans around the world, and later posting pro-shot video of the new track. Fans who pre-order Hardwired ... to Self-Destruct from the band's official site will receive an instant download of the new single.
