Metallica has revealed that it will release a two-disc DVD/Blu-ray set in December filmed at two concerts in Quebec City in the fall of 2009. According to Blabbermouth, the band asked fans to help with the selection of material to be included on the discs. A post at the official Metallica website explained, "As we mentioned before, we played two shows . . . we would like YOU to pick which setlist is the main feature with the remaining songs not played in the setlist that you choose appearing later on the disc in the 'extras' section."

Fans were invited to vote for either one set list or the other over the weekend, with voting ending at noon ET on Monday (September 24th).

Whichever set got the most votes will then be the main feature on the Blu-ray, with alternate songs from the second set appearing as bonus content.

The two set lists, from October 31st and November 1st, 2009, were fairly different from each other, with the first night containing tracks like "For Whom The Bell Tolls," "Holier Than Thou," "Turn The Page," "Damage, Inc." and "Phantom Lord," while the second night's non-duplicate songs included "The Four Horsemen," "The Shortest Straw," "My Apocalypse," "Battery" and "Whiplash."
Metallica recently filmed several more shows in Vancouver for the band's upcoming 3D feature film, which is said to be a combination of concert film and narrative storyline. It is due for release next summer.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame metal act is scheduled to hit the studio to begin work on a new album sometime in 2013.
