Metallica have announced the first dates in support of their upcoming album, Hardwired ... To Self-Destruct. They have five shows scheduled for Latin America in the fall, and promise "many more shows to come."

"It’s on!!!," they posted on their website. "As we put the finishing touches on Hardwired ... To Self-Destruct we’re also getting ready to hit the road for the first of many headlining shows around the world. To kick it all off we’re returning to five cities we know will absolutely rock hard with all kinds of crazy Metalli-love and get this tour started right! First up we travel to Latin America with stops in Puerto Rico, Ecuador, Colombia, Guatemala and Costa Rica."

They continued by saying, "We can’t think of a better place to get the juices flowing and set the table for many more shows to come! We are beyond excited to get out there, visit all of you and test out some of the new songs live. Keep watching here for many more announcements in the coming weeks!!"

The complete calendar is listed below, but they start in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Oct. 26 and wind up in San Jose, Costa Rica, on Nov. 5. For full pre-sale and general public sale information, visit their website.

Arriving Nov. 18, Hardwired ... To Self-Destruct is Metallica's first studio album since 2008's Death Magnetic. It's a two-disc set containing 80 minutes of music. A Deluxe Edition adds a third disc comprised of 2014's "Lords of Summer" and 13 riffs that inspired the songs on the record.
