Your baby has just been born. You're excited, you're exhausted, you're in love. The doctor comes to you and tells you your precious child has a broken heart. Now what? That is a question many families in our area deal with every day and that is why Mended Little Hearts of the Sioux Empire exists.

They seek answers to the tough questions, and share them. They provide support and care for the emotional and educational needs of families and individuals who have been affected by congenital heart defects or heart disease. You can be part of that caring network this holiday season just by doing a little shopping, for yourself or someone on your gift list.

The Mended Little Hearts Shopping with Heart event is coming up on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at All Occasions in Tea from 10 AM to 4 PM. You'll find multiple direct sales vendors, handmade crafts items, and delicious homemade holiday goodies. They will also have raffle items and a silent auction.

Funds raised are used to host seminars and workshops for families to meet with and learn from cardiologists and specialists about the latest in treatments and technology. They also provide "bravery bags" for families and individuals while they are in-patient with goodies and activities to ease some of the stress that comes with the situation. Lastly they also provide funds to allow families to attend local events (like Zoo Boo) in spite of financial hardships that would normally prevent it.
