In an effort to offer more healthy options, McDonald's said Thursday (September 26th) that it's going to introduce salads, fruits and vegetables that customers can order as sides with their sandwiches instead of fries. McDonald's also said it will only advertise water, milk and juice for its kids' Happy Meals. The changes were announced in a joint statement with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a group working to reduce childhood obesity that was founded by the Clinton Foundation and the American Heart Association. The new options are being made in 20 markets around the world, including the U.S, and will start within three years and be available in all of them by 2020.

I'd like a double quarter pounder with cheese, some cucumber slices and a diet coke.
