Sioux Falls has most certainly expanded the financial base of the city's economy compared to several decades ago.

Despite the many employers and businesses that contribute to the growth and stability of our economy, agriculture is still a very important equation of our financial landscape according to Mayor Mike Huether:

Our foundation here Beth is agriculture and I know the KSOO listeners are saying, 'Come on really Mayor no way' and I'm saying absolutely. When farmers and ranchers do well,  Sioux Falls wins more than any town in this area, so we do need to pray for rain. We need these farmers and ranchers to flourish and if there is a hiccup, a bad year in farming, we will feel it.

Our State's dependency on Ag dollars also ties into he recent State Legislature budget shortfall and less money being spent from the farming and ranching sector.
