I've heard the name but couldn't name any of his songs, but now that I've done a little research for Mason Jennings, I can't wait to see his show. Jennings has created a legion of fans coast-to-coast and will bring his music to the District in Sioux Falls, November 27th.

His story begins in Minneapolis, at the age of 13, Jennings picked up a guitar and starting writing songs. A few years later, Jennings begun receiving offers from record companies, but Jennings was more interested in creative freedom, not fast cash. Jennings soon retreated to his apartment and began working on his first album, which he recorded and scrapped four times before finally settling on a final track list.

Fast forward to 2013, (and I love this...) Jennings holed up in the back room of his wood-nestled cabin studio with just a guitar, electric piano, bookshelf, notebook, tape recorder, and one 90-minute cassette—then wrote all winter long. Emerging with the notebook and tape full of about 30 new songs, which you'll hear on the 27th at the District.
