Long before school started on Tuesday at Mark Twain Elementary School, an intruder was caught napping.

A janitor discovered the man in a classroom about 6:30 a.m. as preparations were being made for the final day of schooling before the Thanksgiving break.  The suspect fled the scene and is still at large.

He is described as Native American, in his mid-20’s, around 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing a fairly nice coat.

Police are unsure of how the intruder gained entry to the school.  Neither any evidence of forced entry nor was any damage detected at the school.  However, there was a small amount of cash that was missing.
