Now that I'm on the other side of 50, I find myself more and more sensitive to anything that reminds me of how old I am.

I cringe every year when Beloit College releases their Mindset List, which looks at the incoming college freshman class and chronicles relatively new things that have always been around since they've been on this planet.

The one on the Class of 2017's list that hit me particularly hard:

They have never attended a concert in a smoke-filled arena.

Not to be outdone, the folks at Mental Floss now bring us '11 Sounds That Your Kids Have Probably Never Heard'.

Among them:

The dialing of a rotary telephone

A manual typewriter

The changing of channels on a television (no remote)

A scratched vinyl record

Did they miss any?

How about the beeps and bleeps of a dial-up computer?

The jarring ring of a manual alarm clock?

Or the sounds of a cassette tape being rewound?

What did I miss?
