A Sioux Falls couple were robbed at gunpoint late Saturday afternoon. The only thing taken was a cell phone and no one was injured.

According to Sioux Falls Police Department it happened between 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM at a home on the 1800 block of East 24th Street. Officer Sam Clemens said the two suspects made the slow play before making the move.

“The woman saw a couple people walking up to their door. First they knocked. Then she saw them walk towards the garage. (The victim) went through the house, came out in the garage and found these two (suspects) in the garage. They asked if they could use the phone. The woman went inside to grab her cell phone came out and the man pointed a gun at her. The (female accomplice) grabbed the cell phone ”

After the 79-year old woman had her interaction with this duo, Clemens spoke about the 67-year old husband’s turn in the case.

“The husband was in a room that was just off the garage. The (male suspect) pointed the gun at the husband and demanded cash. He said he didn’t have any and both of them took off running.”

Their vehicle was nearby, so the suspects drove away. One of the suspects was a white female 5 feet 5 inches tall, 110 pounds with long black hair. The other was Hispanic or black about 5 foot 11 and 145 pounds. Both suspects were believed to be in their 20’s.
