Lee Brice is a busy man. When he's not performing, he continues to write music. The multi-talented performer is coming to Sioux Falls.

Brice has had multiple hits over the past few years. It all started with "A Woman Like You," which he considers his "baby" of a song, and continues to produce hits today. Brice has had four songs hit number one on the nationwide country airplay charts, and another three songs come very close to it.

Outside of his own music, Brice has written many songs that other country artists perform. Some of the most notable being the Eli Young Band's "Crazy Girl" and Garth Brooks' "More than a Memory." I asked Brice about the process to have Brooks perform one of the songs he wrote.

"In Nashville, if you're a writer, you have a publisher and they own some of the rights to your music. Their job is to get those songs cut and pitch them to artists. The interesting part is in the case of 'More than a Memory,' it wasn't being pitched. It was being shared between other publishers. That's the coolest part of my situation. One of the other publishers was Garth's and had no interest in the song right away, but fell in love with it and asked to pitch it to Garth. He loved it. He's my biggest influence growing up and it was a dream come true."

Emulating the style of his idol, Brice brings a high energy to his shows. Currently Brice is touring around the country performing at different fairgrounds. One of his most unique shows that he ever did though was in a movie theater.

"There's been some unique ones. Odd ones like in an actual movie theater in front of a small audience. It was kind of awkward. But those places are kind of amazing also."

Brice is ready to come to Sioux Falls and perform at the Sioux Empire Fair on Thursday, August 6th. He says he is ready to bring the "Parking Lot Party" to town.

"You all get your drinking boots on and we're going to throw down. See you all soon!"
