Led Zeppelin Were Fans of the Osmonds?
Led Zeppelin apparently were fans of The Osmonds. The youngest of the musical brothers, 50-year-old Jimmy Osmond, says Zeppelin liked their song “Crazy Horses.”
“We met Led Zeppelin because we used their sound system,” says Jimmy. “We followed their tour. They were so nice! They brought us back to their hotel, and it was cool. They were just like family guys to us. It was mostly my brothers who talked to them. I was very young at the time. But I was still there, and it was quite amazing. It is also really cool for us to know that people from top groups like Led Zeppelin have raised their hands and said, ‘Isn’t that a great riff’ or ‘They really did have amazing musical talent’ about us.”
Led Zeppelin are not alone in rock circles in liking “Crazy Horses.” Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott says you’ll find that song on his iPod, but he doesn’t look at it as a “guilty pleasure. It doesn’t matter what you do, and you shouldn’t be embarrassed by it either.” And back in the 1970′s, Scotland’s The Sensational Alex Harvey Band recorded a harder rocking version of the song.
