PIERRE - A Brule County grand jury has indicted a Mitchell man in the death of a woman whose body was found in a farmstead shed near Chamberlain.

Thirty-six-year-old Kent Davidson faces murder and other charges. He could face life in prison or the death penalty if convicted.

Davidson is accused of murdering 26-year-old Crystal Schulz, of Mitchell. Her body was found March 14. The Daily Republic newspaper reports the two were engaged, and the farmstead was Schulz's mother's.

Davidson is scheduled to make his initial court appearance on Tuesday. It was not immediately clear Monday if he had obtained an attorney.

Davidson was arrested March 15 following a standoff in Sioux Falls after the state attorney general's office asked for the public's help in locating him for questioning about Schulz's death.
