Sioux Falls Police were able to track down a suspect who stabbed someone with a screwdriver near downtown Thursday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Police Department, a stabbing took place just before 12:30pm near the area between the downtown viaducts along the bike trail. The investigation revealed that a 17 year-old male was stabbed five times with a small screwdriver.

Police say the victim was riding a bicycle with an acquaintance who was walking alongside when the suspect got into a verbal confrontation with the acquaintance.

The juvenile victim suffered non-life threatening puncture and scratch wounds to his chest, back and arm and was transported to the hospital via ambulance for treatment. Arrested was 50 year-old Courtney Randall of Sioux Falls who was found a short distance away. Randall faces charges of aggravated assault along with an outstanding warrant.
